After his debut match against Levante, Theo Hernandez said:
We tried hard throughout and our intensity was there as always but we just couldn’t make the most of our chances. Maybe we did lack a little spark but we gave everything. We do need Cristiano to score goals but we don’t necessarily need a No. 9. The squad will continue as it is.
The other new signing of Madrid, Marcos Llorente also admitted that the team lacked Ronaldo as they failed to convert several chances.
Real Madrid will rely most on Ronald the rest of the season and the clubs performance will be more dependent upon him as the clubs highest goalscorer has already netted 407 goals in 396 appearances.
