3 July, Parasi- Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Kumari Aryal has expressed the government’s commitment to developing Ramgram, an ancient site connected with the life of the Buddha.
She expressed this commitment while observing the Ramgram Stupa, a temple, where the relics of the Buddha is preserved, here on Tuesday. Minister Aryal said Ramgram would be developed connecting it with Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha.
“The government is at present moving forward on the path of development and prosperity. Rest assured, the government will develop Ramgram together with Lumbini,” she asserted.
Locals drew the Minister’s attention that the government has not given due importance to the development Ramgram when she reached the Stupa for the observation tour.
Ramgram municipality-7 chair, Shiva Shanker Harijan informed that more than 30,000 tourists visit Ramgram annually but the place lagged in terms of development and infrastructure.
Also on Tuesday, Minister Aryal visited the historical Palhi Bhagawati goddess temple at Palhinandan rural municipality-4 and the Martyr Bishnu Pandey Memorial Park at Bankatti, Sunawal-5 in the district. (RSS)
