5 june, Chitwan- Nepali Congress Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said the party’s awareness campaign has prompted the culture of dialogue among the party cadres. Talking to journalists here today, he said the campaign aims to further reform the party and it had been helpful to determine the party’s future course of action.
“The awareness campaign serves as a medicine for the transformation of the party. And with this, the NC has now found its starting point for speeding up its goals ahead. Overall, the campaign of the first phase has been successful,” he said.
Pointing out some frustrations among the people he noticed during interactions with the people in course of the campaign, he claimed that only the NC could protect democracy and change people’s frustration into hope. Most programmes under the first phase of the awareness campaign were centered on rural areas, and the second phase events have been scheduled from September 10 to 24 and the third phase will start from December 23 and conclude on January 2, 2020.
On a different note, he said the Media Council Bill should be withdrawn and the Press Council should be allowed to set a code of conduct for journalists with their participation. (RSS)
