24 may, sindhuli – A seven-year-old boy, Manish Shrestha, died due to drowning at Bahrabise of Marin rural municipality in the district on Thursday.
He drowned while swimming in a pool on the bank of the local Marin river. The pool was formed in a ditch resulting from excavation of sand and pebble by a dozer, the Area Police Office Kapilakot stated.
Kalika Construction had extracted aggregates from the river bank using dozer. But the construction company had not leveled the ditch thereby resulting in the formation of a pool there.
Although the construction company promised to cover all the ditches it had made in the river bank while extracting sand and pebbles by mid-April, it has not done so.(RSS)
