24 may, kathmandu- Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Tham Maya Thapa today stressed the need for bringing the Nepal Children’s Organisation (NCO) under the ministry. The NCO is currently under the Ministry of Home.
Informing that efforts were on to bring bylaws for the effective enforcement of the Children Act, 2075, she said the standards to operate integrated child homes would be implemented, and a child right council, a state child rights committee and a child rights committee would be formed in all three levels, federal, state and local. She was putting her view at today meeting of the Women and Social Committee under the House of Representatives.
She also stressed the need for increasing budget in the sector of women, children and senior citizens.(RSS)
